Do you accept insurance?

I am not an in-network provider with any insurance company.  I can provide clients with a Superbill that they can turn into their insurance company for possible reimbursement or for documentation for their HSA or FSA accounts upon request.

Please inquire with your insurance provider for out-of-network benefits by asking the following:

  • Do I have out-of-network Mental Health benefits?

  • Do the benefits cover a Licensed Associate (LMHCA)?

  • What percentage is reimbursed?

  • Do I have a deductible to meet prior to reimbursement? If so, what is the deductible amount?

Why don't you accept insurance?

Insurance companies require a diagnosis be given for reimbursement of services.  My approach to healing work does not align with assigning a diagnosis, which can result in a negative impact to a client's perception of themselves, their professional careers, and personal lives if someone attempts to weaponize a diagnosis causing further stigma around mental health as well as barriers to treatment.  Often times a diagnosis can diminish a client's intuitive healing process by believing a label over their inherent ability to become an advocate of their own healing.

Additionally, when utilizing insurance, the insurance provider often determines what kind of therapy you can receive and how long therapy should last.  Further, the privacy of your records is limited as the diagnosis becomes part of your medical record.  Sometimes such medical records can impact your future for insurance coverage (life and medical), employment, custody proceedings, and more.

A large part of healing from trauma is finding one's voice, developing autonomy, and freedom of choice. In therapy, this is partially done through empowerment to choose what type of therapy you will engage in, for how long, and what is included in your medical record.  Often times, therapy is the first place client's begin to exercise their right to choose thus empowering their own voice, advocating for themselves, and restoring their self-trust.

Therapy Is Expensive, Is It Worth It?

The national standard rate for therapy is $150 - $250 per session, thus careful consideration needs to be given when selecting who you will work with. Therapy is an investment in yourself, requiring personal resources of time, energy, and money.  It is a serious commitment you make to yourself, one that requires intentionality.  Committing to this type of work often leads to profound changes in your overall well-being (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual), relationships, and career.

Our clients have often dedicated significant amounts of their personal resources to their education, careers, lifestyle, and health. They frequently are seeking deeper areas of growth, increasing self-confidence, ability to cultivate a lifestyle aligned with their values, authenticity and freedom.

How Often Should We Meet To Be Effective?

When you first enter therapy, sessions are booked on a weekly basis, building a foundation to enter into deeper work.  After a time, sessions are then reduced to bi-weekly, monthly, and finally transitioning to "maintenance" for times when life requires extra support.  This frame work sets the stage for you to carry this consistency into your life outside of the therapy session.
